Runty & Stubbs' upcoming release..

I think I will be releasing Runty and Stubbs this Thursday or Friday. They have recovered from their spay surgeries already. I don't feel good about it. I've never had to do this before. All previous fosters became tame and adoptable eventually. I know I can't control what they do once I have released them but I hope that even though they are still afraid of humans, they will know to come back to my house everyday for food. If anything happens to them while they're out there, I won't be able to forgive myself but I can't keep the terrified little kitties in my house anymore. It's too stressful for them, its been too long without any progress, and they don't want to be around people. this is one situation that i've got to let go of but its just so difficult to do so. i keep worrying that i'll find them dead in the neighborhood one day. omg why am i so bloody paranoid and neurotic.

I hope they make it. You've done all you can; now it's time to let go. You can't help them all. Plus, they're probably quite able to look after themselves, esp if you leave some bikkies out twice a day.

We're Following you now so we can keep up with posts; want to follow us? We've got a button at http://blog.lepak.com

I know its hard - but they will be much happier. Even if their life is shorter because of it, it's so much better than giving them a long miserable life that they hate. You did everything you could for them, and now the best thing you can do for them is to let them go.

It's definitely hard when you've been caring for them inside the safety of your home. I can't help but think of horrible possible endings for the group of feral cats I take care of - and they've lived outside their whole lives! But seeing them lounging around, snuggling up with each other - I know that they do have good lives for feral cats. Just without the safety I would like. = )

Please don't feel guilty! You've done so much for Runty and Stubbs, and their lives are so much better for it. Ferals are very resourceful and creatures of habit, so there is a good chance that they will continue to see you and your house as a source of food.
