Pupsilly Puppy Cola in her new home - Renamed Shadow

Now that is one happy little dog in her forever home :)

Shadow was adopted by a lady and her little son. I couldn't ask for a better adopter! Shadow has been through a lot in the last few weeks and they are sticking by her. During her stay with me Shadow was spayed, had urinary tract infection, ear mites... Poor thing must've been feeling so shitty but never complained. Guess what? Last week Shadow's adopter found out that she has heartworm. How scary is that?? But they are not giving up on her. She is getting the treatment she needs. Most adopters would return a sick dog but this one is already committed to Shadow and loves her after 2 weeks. Totally restores my faith in humans. They are caring for Shadow like a member of the family and I couldn't be more pleased. Shadow is one lucky dog and I wish all adopters were so awesome!

Tamago and Puppy Cola after the groomer's visit. I had all of Tamago's hair cut. Its so freaking hot in Malaysia and she hates having her hair brushed. She's unrecognizable as a shih-tzu now and soooo much neater and cleaner and she smells way better too.

No idea what dog Tamago looks like now but I think she looks freaking adorable!! You should've seen the looks of horror some Shih-Tzu people gave me when I brought her to an SPCA event. First I was asked if she was a pug.. When I said no they were like oh my gawd... I guess they think the long hair makes the dog. Whatever! My pooch is a companion not an accessory and she's way more comfortable now.

Just wanna say that adopting an older dog is super!!! I adopted Tamago last year when she was about 8 years old so I guess she's 9 now. Everyone wants puppies because they're soooo super cute, playful, and adorable. Who doesn't love puppies? But realistically, who has the time for them? They're babies and require so much time and energy from their caregiver. So many people adopt puppies and then dump them when they get too big, or because they're too energetic, or they can't train them. If you're working full-time or perhaps you don't have as much space for a hyperactive pup, consider adopting an older dog. You'll still get the love and the loyalty, but in a calmer package. You can enjoy the companionship with less headache. Adult dogs that are abandoned pets are usually already housebroken, trained, past the age of teething and destructive chewing. Tamago is a perfect companion. Mellow like me :)

Puppy Cola went to her new home a couple of weeks ago and her name is Shadow now. She's about 4 years old and another example of why adopting an older dog is so awesome. Also, adult and older dogs need homes too. Please don't brush them aside.

Charlie Tux went to her new home last Saturday. She now lives with a really nice lady and another little ginger kitten. These are the last photos I took of her. While she was with me she had developed the habit of perching on my shoulder and nibbling my ears. Funny girl. She is missed!




Knut has also been adopted! She met her adopter last night and will be going to her new home next week.

Bye my Miko and be a good girl!

Miko was adopted last Sunday and I am sooooooooo super sad. Lots of people called me about her after seeing her adoption profile on petfinder.my but it was easy to choose the family I wanted her to go to. Her new mummy rescued her first kittens when she was just 14 years old. Miko will now have a cockapoo pooch to run around with and two little girls aged 4 and 6 who adore kittens. When Miko's adopter came over to meet Miko for the first time, she brought her 6 year old and I was really impressed by how gentle the little girl was, cradling Miko like a little precious baby in her arms. Major "Awwwwww" moment. My heart melted. The little girl informed me that she was going to take such good care of Miko and that they were going to be so happy together :) She then insisted on carrying the carrier (with Miko inside) to the car. I heard Miko's new mummy tell her little girl that she had to learn boundaries with Miko, that kitties want to play but not all the time and that sometimes you have to leave them alone because they want space. I know my Miko is in really good hands. I wish them all a long and happy future together.

Last closeup of my Munchkin Miko. I'll miss my little kitten. Never ever hand-rearing kittens ever again. I just get so super attached. There's something about bottle-feeding tiny fragile newborns that makes the bond to them sooooooooo strong. I'm happy that she made it but sad for me too. I hope I get to keep one of my own hand-reared ones someday.

Baby Beau/Little Boo has been adopted!

Just a quick one to tell all you animal welfare lovelies that Baby Beau also known as Little Boo, now known as Datin, was adopted last Friday evening. She joins a lovely lady who lives in my neighborhood and her other precious pets.

She's in excellent hands and has already been brought for further checkups at the vet, full blood screening, and she's now on Revolution. I couldn't be happier for the little sugar booger. Her new mother is the sort of adopter that we always wish for, but don't always find for our foster animals.

Luckytoes Midnight & Conan rehomed together.

Oh i miss my foster babies soooooo much! I wish fostering had time limits but well, we all know that sometimes our temporary foster cases become almost permanent. Those long-term foster furbabies become just as precious and loved as our own darling pets. When they are adopted it feels like someone is taking away your pet! It's impossible to differentiate between the bond we share with our own and the bond we share with our longtime fosters..

Luckytoes Midnight joined my foster family before halloween last year. Conan joined us in April last year. They are definitely the record holders here for longest temporary foster furbabies EVER! They went to their new forever home in Cameron Highlands on Saturday the 19th of June 2010. I didn't report the move earlier because I wanted to see if it went well first.. I've had regular progress reports from their adopter. They had a shaky start. They were very scared, wouldn't eat. But finally after almost 2 weeks in their new home, I've had an excellent progress report! They're chowing down like never before, sleeping like the lazy pigs they are, playing and being sweet.

Congratulations to their adopter S, who took a chance on two fearful kitties and taught them how to trust her. Well done young lady!

But omg do i miss them sooooo much. I have shed sooo many tears for them and really piled on the drama. I miss their silly faces and goofy antics. I should add though, that all of you don't have to worry about molly missing conan.. she hasn't seemed to notice that he's gone.. thank god for that.

Little Pinky (James) Update

I love receiving updates and new photos of my previous foster babies. Little Pinky's mum, RK, emailed me this photo of him yesterday. He's 10 months old now and he looks wonderful. losing my sanity

yesterday was an emotional rollercoaster for me.. in the morning, gia passed away.. and that night, madeleine was adopted!! so last night i was a blubbering sack of tears and mood swings.. didn't help that i'm like pmsing as well. so this was me last night:

"YAY!! Maddie's got a family!!"
"Sob, sniffle.. But little Gia is dead.." *CURL UP INTO FETAL POSITION IN BED AND SOB*
"I miss Maddie so much already!" *CRY*
"Oh poor Molly will think Maddie abandoned her.. Molly will be lonely!" *MORE TEARS*
"The house is so empty without Maddie.. I miss her cutesy face.." *AND YET MORE TEARS*
"Yay!! The people that adopted Maddie are so nice!!" *SMILE*
"How can i celebrate for Maddie, when Gia is dead..." *CRY AGAIN*

i'm exhausted today. i have no emotions left. i think that's good. i need a little break from all that.
