Tabatha's been adopted and other updates...
Its been an interesting couple of weeks in my animal kingdom. Tabatha was adopted last saturday morning by a nice family while she was in the cattery at SPCA Selangor. She is ready for spaying in a couple of weeks so she will be back for that. We all really miss her. She has a larger than life personality and my apartment feels wayyyyy too peaceful now.
Miko is able to do his business on his own now and has a litter box which he diligently uses. He totters around on shaky little legs and invades Tamago's bed. His teeth have grown in and he can eat canned kitten food or moistened kibble although he still prefers his milk bottle. He doesn't know how to drink water so I've had to force him to drink water through a syringe. I hope he will be ready for adoption to a good home in about 6 weeks.

I didn't mention this before but Noel was adopted a few weeks ago. Yay for him! He was adopted by a nice young lady who has another little kitten.
Spike is adjusting to life without Tony Montana. It's only been about 5 weeks since Tony Montana passed away and he is so deeply missed. It is a great comfort to us that he died peacefully at home of natural causes. Spike's dad and I have been showering him with gifts of toys and treats and plenty of loving. He's never been an only dog before and I think he is quite lonely now. Spike and I will have this whole Friday together though because its a public holiday and Spike and I will be working at the SPCA booth at an event in Bangsar. It'll be a nice outing for me and my pooch.
Tony M loved his car rides. He loved watching the world. I miss him.
One of the few pics of me with both Spike and Tony.. Tony was sniffing something.. oh well..
Me and Spike at my last visit.

Spike and his dad.
Toys can't replace Tony but we hope to distract Spike from his loss.

Tomorrow is the first anniversary of Molly's death. I can't believe its been a year. It still hurts so much. I miss her everyday and I think about how happy she was when we were all still together. One big happy family. Then I think about all she went through and how miserable she was at the end and I feel sick and my heart aches. I feel a tightening in my chest that can only be the pain of loss and guilt. i have to say this, i care, i care a lot about all these animals but i wish i didn't anymore. i don't want to. i can't stand it when things don't work out.

Molly's smile.

An afternoon visit with Tony, Spike, and Coco.
Oh I can't belieeeeveeeeee how silly I am sometimes. I went to visit my dogs Tony Montana and Spike who live with their dad. I meant to take new photos of my two beloved pooches but I forgot my camera :( Bloody hell! I so wanted new photos of them. They've both lost weight and look healthier than ever! Especially Tony, who is quite old and was so fat and wide before that I swear you could balance a tray on his back. He's slimmer now and more active thanks to daily walks he gets from his Dad's brother. Spike has a long body and short legs and he was looking rather stout at one time too but now he's slimmed down as well. His ears look enormous but he's still such a cutie! I miss them.
I had a dream about them and Molly last night. I wish they were still all with me and mine to see and love everyday. Visiting my dogs is always nice but when I leave them I always feel sadder than before. Being with Tony and Spike always reminds me of Molly and makes me miss her more. Leaving Tony and Spike at the end of a visit makes me feel guilty. I wish I could explain things to them and make them understand. I am glad though that their Dad wanted them when we split up and is taking such good care of them. They have such a big yard to play in and their Dad even had a dog house made that their crates fit into. I can't care for them in my little apartment. They'd go nuts with boredom.
Every time I visit I bring presents. Usually toys, treats, rawhide bones, wet food to mix in with their usual kibble. Today I brought treats and vitamins. Vetzyme Conditioning Tablets. Tony devoured them like he devours everything else, as if its the tastiest thing in the world. Spike as usual, graciously took them from my hand... and then quietly spat them out on the floor. This Spike.. Sighh.. He absolutely refuses to eat anything that is medical or health related, no matter if its labelled "beef flavor" or "feed as a savory treat". He's not fooled. He also spits out heartguard after holding it in his mouth for a few seconds to fool us... It's supposed to be meat flavored! We'd think he's eaten it, then find it wet and soggy in his crate later.
I also saw Coco who went with her Dad when we split up. She was very nice to me, not cranky at all. In fact she was very affectionate and loving. I was pleasantly surprised. I suppose she was happy I was just there to visit and she can tolerate me in small doses. When Coco and I were under the same roof she did some awful things to me, like take craps in my laundry basket, or pee on my shoes. She also climbed into two of my large handbags and peed in them. She only did this to my stuff, never her Dad's.. I got the hint!
NEXT TIME I WILL TAKE PICTURES! In the meantime, here are a few old ones..

And off we go to our new homes.. all of us..
Yesterday the 31st of August, was the Malaysian independence day. I'm not patriotic so it means nothing to me, plus i'm a chink and my fellow malaysian chinks know what that means over here... second class citizens. But anyway f*** that. I'm not going to get political today. For me, yesterday had a different meaning, it was the last and final day at the house. The end of one of the most important and life-changing chapters of my life. Now I find myself strangely alone. It's a weird feeling and I'm a little lost. The ex and I were together for 5 years and lived together for 3. This breakup has been like a divorce.. Division of pets, property, the whole 9 yards. I'm just happy that we have parted amicably and will always be part of each other's lives. Still, i think its pretty traumatizing for all and I haven't slept well in weeks. Now that the house is empty and none of us are there anymore, this breakup feels all too real. ugh i know i'm not really making sense. just rambling. anyway this is supposed to be about the animals not me.
Molly moved to Az's home on Monday evening. I was there with her for about 6 hours and we hung out with Az and his dogs Kopi and his puppy, now named Sunday. Molly was nervous but willing to explore so I was optimistic.. when she first moved in with me, she was completely paralyzed with fear so this was a big improvement. She even ate lamb and chicken that Az prepared for her. She played with Sunday and wasn't too growly. I hoped everything would be ok when I left her there. Well she started to get a little barky and agitated towards the end of the night. I guess she sensed something was wrong and wanted to go home. We had her confined to a back area but when she saw me leaving she managed to get through and made a mad dash for the door. She was so panicked she pooped a little. My poor baby. Az told me that the next morning, she became very aggressive. We are working on that now.
I hope I never have to foster a dog ever again. It's too painful. I know we are supposed to maintain an emotional distance from our foster animals, but i just can't. People are always telling me not to get too attached. How can I not get attached? The only way to rehabilitate these animals, especially the abused ones, is to shower them with as much unconditional love as possible. If I could hold anything back, any love, then I wouldn't be fostering anyway. Know what I mean? I foster because I love. So yeah it hurts, it always hurts and now the thought of Molly being unhappy is killing me. There is a tightness in my chest that hasn't gone away since she left me. I am so worried and I miss her so much. I am always fighting back tears.
Tony and Spike moved to my ex's home last night. That was heartbreaking for me as well. I miss them already. Spike was so confused and whined a lot when he was left there. Tony was fine though, he lived there for a whole year before and seemed to remember it. I know they will be fine there. That house has like the biggest freaking yard ever. It's HUGE. They will have so much space and hopefully Tony won't always get cranky and attack Spike. Surely that giant yard is big enough for the both of them? Fingers crossed. I'll go over this weekend to bathe and walk them.
All the cats are fine in my new apartment except for Daisy Mama Cat. She really hates being indoors. She has been hiding behind the potted plants on the balcony since yesterday.
Silas the kitten was adopted this afternoon by a nice girl that has a 1 year old male orange tabby kitty.

Camera-stalking Tony, Spike, and Molly. I love my mutts!
Molly, always with a smile on her face.. Who needs four feet when you've already got three great ones?

No. Molly and Spike are not the world's best dog models. I'm holding treats.

Spike loves hanging out in his crate. Sometimes he won't even come out when I want to play with him. He'd rather chill in his bachelor pad with his toys.

Daisy Mama Cat on her favorite perch. Other neighborhood stray kitties also congregate here for free kibble and fresh water.

Molly loves sniffing at any grassy areas, chewing weeds, and sometimes just snapping insanely at them as they brush against her face.

Tony, my little angel-faced psycho dog.. He's sweet but only to two people in the whole world, including super me of course! Everyone else must stay away or risk losing fingers and toes.

Rescue dogs are the best! Smarter, cuter, sweeter and more lovable than the rest. Mutts rule! Adopt one at your nearest animal shelter today.
Remember, don't breed and buy while shelter animals die.
